Operational mode and system design

The BGN flow meter operates based on a simple yet effective measuring principle. The medium flows upward through a sharp-edged measuring ring, lifting the conical float. As the float rises, it creates a gap between itself and the ring that is proportional to the flow rate. The balance between buoyancy force and the float’s weight determine the float’s position, which a magnet tracking system transmits to the scale for precise flow measurement.

  • Use a conical float inside a tube for flow rates between 5 and 50 l/h; use a cylindrical float for lower ranges up to 40 l/h.
  • A permanent magnet in the float transmits its position to the analog indicator or optional electronic evaluators.
