Hydrogen as a Sustainable Option

The enormous energy demands of modern society have had a negative impact on the climate. As a replacement for fossil fuels, hydrogen is superior due to its great efficiency and little environmental effect. Over the past decade, Heinrichs has been a leading provider of measuring solutions for H2 vehicle dispensers in the high-pressure hydrogen industry.

Managing hydrogen’s extremely porous nature and handling pressures greater than 1000 bar are two technological obstacles that must be overcome in order to compress elemental hydrogen to its high energy density. Heinrichs made the TMU-W product line using advanced simulation methods (CSM, FEM, CFD, CEM, FSI, and TFSI) to get around these problems and make sure that high-pressure hydrogen applications have the best Coriolis sensors.

High Pressure Coriolis for H2

Futuristic design for future technology

TMU_W_Splitter1.jpg TMU_W_FSI1.jpg

For the development of the TMU-W the latest techniques in the simulation of structure and flow conditions were applied:

  • CSM (Computational Structural Mechanics)
  • FEM (Finite Element Method)
  • CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)
  • CEM (Computational Electromagnetics)
  • FSI (Fluid Structure Interaction)
  • TFSI (Thermal Fluid Structural Interaction)

These techniques allow a precise virtual assessment of complex, coupled behaviours meaning the specific characteristics of H2 high pressure measurement can be addressed directly. The result was the rapid development of an optimised Coriolis sensor.
